SCIC Association
Association
with the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception is a journey
of sharing the gift of the common call to serve the needs of our
world wherever we are.
Associates are drawn to the spirit and traditions of St. Vincent
de Paul … the charism of charity and love for the poor. They
grow in this charism of charity as lived out in the life and witness
of Honoria Conway and our founding women.
Together we...
- come to a deeper understanding of charity and justice
- share and study faith, culture, needs, and signs of the time
- meet
for prayer,workshops,retreats,social gatherings, and congregational
events
Our Spirituality :
Our Associate relationship arises out of a common call to be followers
of Jesus, and a common attraction to the spirit in which St.Vincent
de Paul and Honoria Conway lived the Gospel. Special sensitivity
to compassionate love for all, especially the poor, is at the
heart of our spirituality.

The Charity Of Christ Urges Us.......
Becoming an Associate:
- the person inquiring into association participates in a process
connecting his / her life ...with the spirit of the congregation
through story telling, reflection, and sharing
- over a period of
time, mutual discernment affirms a personal call and commitment
to ...this relationship with the congregation
- the person who
wishes to become an associate requests to formalize the relationship
...with a commitment.
SCIC Associates speak...
"Becoming an Associate was the beginning of a new way of life
for me. I have come to know St.Vincent de Paul and Honoria Conway.
The invitation to join with the Sisters of Charity I.C. to serve
the poor and less fortunate has allowed me to grow spiritually,
to share the gifts I have received and to help the community live
its
mission. "I see this as a personal response to my vocation as
a Christian" ( October 2000)
"To belong to an association or group...who have the same
interests and goals is something to cherish and appreciate. With
the Sisters
of Charity I.C. I can share personal experiences in my life and
I grow spiritually.I feel privileged to be an Associate and I desire
to live the vision and charism of this congregation in my daily
life."
( November 2000 )
