Christ’s Mission
Focus of our vision
Core of our being
Spiralling forward,
outward in concentricity;
Open armed
embracing the various aspects
of our SCIC Mission
which is propelled beyond the here and now
into the not yet,
the unknown path of pilgrimage;
beyond the tried and proven,
beyond the secure and comfortable.
To the Periphery, where we of ourselves ~
would not
could not
dare not choose to be,
save for the fact
that Christ
is already There,
Waiting!

Apostolic / Mission Spirituality Apostolic / mission spirituality is a way of living characterized
by three essentially interrelated dimensions of contemplation,
community, and service. These dimensions are grounded in the life and teaching
of Jesus. It is this grounding which gives meaning to our lives.

For a certainty, we know that Honoria Conway and Mary Routanne were
formed in Vincentian spirituality through the influence of St. Elizabeth
Ann Seton's Sisters of Charity. Because they were imbued with this
same spirit, they responded to the needs of the poor in Saint John
in a particular spirit of simplicity, generosity, and attentiveness.
