Community Foundation Award
to Sisters of Charity IC

The
Greater Saint John Community Foundation, celebrating its 30th anniversary,
awarded a $5,000 Community Service Award to the Sisters of Charity
I.C. during celebrations at the Imperial Theatre.
Congregational Leader, Sister Sandra Barrett scic, receiving the
award immediately passed it on to the chairman of the Board of ‘Hestia
House’, Rothesay Police Chief Stephen McIntyre. Making the
grant payable to the Women’s Shelter is the Foundation’s
way of honoring the Sisters for their ‘significant contributions’
to the community over the past 152 years.
“There is a lot of dedication and generosity”, said
the Foundation’s Patron, Lt.Gov. Herménégilde
Chaisson …”You have given a great deal of soul, which
is a benediction, and a benediction must be shared”.
